The Canterville Ghost is a story written by Oscar Wilde in 1887. It is a parody of horror stories in which an American minister Hiram B. Otis moved with his family to a haunted castle in England. Al contrario, intentan "combatirlo" utilizando productos (detergentes, aceite para sus cadenas); sin embargo su vida nunca es alterada, a pesar de los esfuerzos que lleva a cabo el fantasma.
